Entertainer Booking System

The Entertainer Booking System (EBS) is a Microsoft .Net 3.5 C# application that uses Linq-to-Sql for the data access and ASP.Net Ajax with jQuery for the client scripting. The business logic, web object transports and extensions, data model, and web services are all built as complete separate entities with Microsoft Unity as the DI/IOC container that does all the plumbing to reduce dependencies and internal references. Also with Linq-to-Sql at possible EOL it seemed wise to prepare for replacing the data layer at a later date.

The system has two main system pages providing specific business functions, and other various reporting and administrative areas. The first page is a call-center type interpreter, which takes textual commands, evaluates them and then follows through with associated business processes, or returns to inform the user the command is not accepted. The second page(s) are the reverse of the first page. From here the business processes are entered directly and then reverse interpreted into commands to be added to the call-sheet.

The original process was done with multiple Excel spreadsheets and all of the synchronization done manually by staff.
Although a closed system, a demonstration of this application is available to interested parties.

Warranty Information Management System

The warranty information management system (WIMS) is a Microsoft .Net 1.1 VB.Net application built over many years for Progressive Warranty Canada. The company had originally procured a business process evaluation, and the baseline of the project had been attempted by a previous developer when TombMedia began work on this project. The state of the project required an immediate rebuild on 99% of the server side code and TombMedia's familiarity with the project was instrumental in contracting and working with some big guns to get it done.

The WIMS system managed all of the home warranty registrations, the status of those warranties and how far into those warranties terms each registration is, the reports and input from the inspectors and the related claims calls, all accounts receivable and accounts payable, plus payments. It manages hundreds of thousands of records daily and has a custom self replicating data model to share data between the various office locations across Canada.

WIMS is a closed system and managed by Progressive Warranty. Demonstrations are unavailable.

BlueOceanCMS

Those same big guns that TombMedia worked with on WIMS eventually took some TombMedia prototypes based on the Microsoft Community Server that was out as a starter kit at one time. That product was later developed into the CommunityServer by Telligent, whereas the prototype ended up as the BlueOceanCMS.

Written entirely from the ground up using VB.Net 1.1, it has a very special dynamic data structure and has been ported to work with SQL Server and Oracle. Built with extensibility in mind, the plug-in architecture is dynamic, and the system currently has a variety of plug-ins for a variety of purposes. The product has been implemented in laboratory and research settings with AGAT Labs and the Alberta Research Council, in commercial industries with Grande Design Homes and Progressive Warranty, and every type of conventional web product, be it blogging, galleries, or multi-lingual content management for government.

The project is not open source, but a demonstration is available from Kennedy Solutions.
